Brioche Buns
Introduction
These brioche buns are so soft and pillowy, they can be eaten on its own or with jam, butter, anything your heart desires! My favorite way to eat them: with tea, butter and raspberry jam. They are delicious, and easy to make. Yum!
Recipe
Ingredients
700 g of all purpose flour
3 eggs
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 teaspoon of sea salt
1 tablespoon (or 10g) of dry instant yeast
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 and 1/4 cups of water
Instructions
Take 1 tablespoon of yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar, and dissolve them in 1/4 cup of warm water. Mix everything and cover it. Let the mixture rest for 15 minutes.
In the bowl, beat 2 eggs (leave the third egg for later) and add 1 cup of warm water to it. Then add 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 cup of vegetable oil to the ball. Mix it all.
Sift 700g of flour and then make a well inside it. Add the liquid (from step 2) to the well and start slowly mixing everything until a ball forms from the dough.
Start kneading the dough for about 10 minutes until it is no longer sticky. If the dough it still too sticky, its okay to add little bit of flour to it.
Brush the dough with some oil and let it rest for about 1.5 to 2 hours.
Take the dough and divide it into your preferred size. Take the baking tray and sprinkle it with flour. Place the buns on the baking tray, cover them and let them rest for final 30 minutes. Before placing the buns in the oven, take 1 egg that you saved earlier and beat it to make an egg wash. Brush the buns with egg wash before placing them into the oven.
Bake the buns in 400 F oven for 5 minutes, and then after 5 minutes, lower the temperature to 385 F and bake for additional 20-25 minutes until the buns become golden. I hope you enjoy these soft and pillowy buns!
