Zesty Sautéed Asparagus

Sautéed Asparagus

Sautéed Asparagus

Simplicity is ultimate sophistication. This crunchy, bright green asparagus was seasoned with garlic and onion powder, sautéed to perfection with olive oil and spritzed with zesty lemon juice. I also added some red pepper flakes for extra heat, but this step is optional. On a side note, asparagus is full of fiber, antioxidants and vitamins (but you probably already knew this). So enjoy it as a side dish or an appetizer!

Ingredients

  • 200 grams of asparagus (7oz)

  • 1/2 teaspoons of garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoons of onion powder (optional)

  • salt and pepper (to taste)

  • 1/2 to 1 tablespoons of lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Season the asparagus with onion and garlic powder, salt and pepper.

  2. Heat up the pan and add about tablespoon of olive oil, or enough to coat the surface of the pan. Add asparagus and sauté for about 5 minutes. Add red pepper flakes for some extra heat (optional).

  3. Add some lemon juice. Start with adding 1/2 tablespoons and taste. If more acidity is desired, add more. Remember when it comes to salting and adding acidity to your food, be conservative. More could always be added later. Enjoy!
